Categories are the top-level shopping choices visitors first see. It is possible to have sub-categories within each main category. Categories and sub-categories are then populated with Products.

1. Add New Categories

At least one category must be set up for products to be available for sale. Products added without a category will NOT show online.

To add a new category:

Click >new category
Add >category name
Add >category image (This appears on the top-level shopping page.)
Add >category big image (This appears on the specific category front page.)
Choose >sort order (This sorts the order categories appear on the top-level shopping page.)
Click >save

Note: To add images, click >browse, locate and select image to be inserted and click >open/save.

1.1. Add New Sub-categories

Any number of sub-categories can be added to main categories. However, DO NOT add further sub-categories to each sub-category as these will not show on the site.
NOTE: Add only products OR sub-categories to a main category; do not add both.

To add new sub-category:

Select main category from >Go To drop down menu
Click >new category
Add >category name (This appears as a sub-heading under the main category name on the top-level shopping page.)
Add >category image (This appears on the main category page.)
Add >category big image (This appears on the new sub-category front page.)
Choose >sort order (This sorts the order sub-categories appear on the top-level shopping page.)
Click >save

1.2 Change and Delete Existing Categories

Categories and sub-categories can be edited, moved and deleted.

To change an existing category, select the category and do one of the following:

Click >edit
Change name, image, big image or sort order, as necessary.
Click >save

Click >delete
Confirm you are sure you want to delete that category. NOTE: Deleting a category also deletes any products still contained within it.
Click >delete again

Click >move
Select from the >Move To drop-down menu the new category you wish to move the selected category into.
Click >move again


2. Add New Products

Any number of products can be added to a category or sub-category.
NOTE: Before adding new products, make sure Product Attributes have been entered if necessary. See Managing Product Attributes

To add new products:

Select and open the appropriate category folder (This can be done by double-clicking the folder or by selecting from the >Go To drop-down menu.)
Click >new product
Enter appropriate product information and images as required:

>Product status: Indicate whether product is in stock or not. NOTE: If out of stock is selected, the product will not show on site. This enables products to be turned on and off as stock is available.

>Product name: Enter the product name to show on site.

>Product price: Enter the product price to show on site.

>Product description: Enter product description as required. This appears on the specific product page under the product name.

>Product quanity: This is for administration and stock control. Quantity details will not show on site.

>Product code: This is for administration. Code will not show on site.

>Product image displayed in category: This image will appear as a thumbnail on the front page of the product?s category.
NOTE: To add images, click >browse, locate and select image to be inserted and click >open/save.

>Product big image: This image will appear on the specific product page.

NOTE: The above 2 images are a recommended minimum for each product. Follow the instructions on the admin page to add further images if required.

>Product weight: This is for administration and freight charging. Weight will not show on site.

>Product attributes: These attributes will appear on the specific product page along with the product big image. Select which attributes are required. Add + or - amounts if the attribute alters the price. (eg if black t-shirts are $10 more, add +10 to the black attribute.)
NOTE: If product attributes are required these must be setup?BEFORE products are added. See Managing Product Attributes

Click >preview. Check information entered is correct and complete.
Click >save

2.1 Update or Delete Existing Product Information

Products can be edited, moved, copied and deleted.

To change an existing product, select the category and then select the product and do one of the following:

Click >edit
Change product information and images as necessary.
Click >save

Click >delete
Confirm you are sure you want to delete that product.
Click >delete again

Click >move
Select from the >Move To drop-down menu the new category you wish to move the selected product into. NOTE: Use this to move a product from one category to another.
Click >move again

Click >copy to
Select from the >Categories drop-down menu the new category you wish to copy the selected product into. NOTE: Use this to replicate a product in other categories.
Select >link product from >Copy Method menu.
Click >copy
